Shipping policy

The store platform we use requires that shipping be calculated at checkout. We know this is not ideal and have tried many solutions to allow people to see the cost of shipping before proceeding to checkout. Unfortunately, all of the solutions come with their own problems. Therefore, if you would prefer to know the shipping cost without having to proceed through the check-out process, you may send us an email at info@sonoransound.com. We are always happy to give you a custom shipping quote and streamline the checkout process for you. We do not seek to make money off of shipping and strive to simply pass along the costs we incur. All website platforms use a formula based factors such as weight, size, and your location to estimate shipping. In general, these calculations are accurate but for some orders, especially heavier ones or orders with multiple items, they can differ from the actual shipping costs. If there is ever a change in the shipping cost, we will be sure to contact you before processing your order.

Why we don't offer "free shipping"

There is actually no such thing as free shipping. This is a marketing ploy that has been widely used to simplify transactions. It always costs the shipper money to ship an item to a customer and for returns it always costs money to ship the item back. When you see something sold with "free shipping" it means the price of the item was increased to include the cost of shipping. In the case of "free return shipping" the same is true. Rather than inflating the cost of items to create the illusion that shipping is free, we simply pass along the actual cost of shipping. This is more honest and transparent. From time to time we may offer a promotion for free shipping, though this should always be viewed as a sale on the price as a whole as it still costs us money to ship.
